R 134a P H Diagram - Where's Music Processed in the Brain? ? The above graphic shows the standing of every portion of the mind when processing audio. There are many perspectives on how music is processed by the mind, the following are a few examples of popular views. But, all views of a similar nature are on display . Some people believe that the mind is primarily responsible for language processing. They presume that this brain region is responsible for translating noises and transmitting messages from person to person. The first type of this view of music processing is popularly called synchronistic: sound-to-language model. This version says that language is transmitted through the ear and if we know a language it's possible to comprehend the significance of the sound. The next opinion is that noises are in reality sound. We then say that sounds aren'tsound because they're in fact a noise. This may be seen from hearing a word forsound likebuzzing. Noise has no significance. It's simply noise. The third view is that the brain has an audionoise processing mechanism. It contrasts sounds and determines whether they are meaningful or not. This view claims that all sounds can be translated to imply something. The fourth view of music processing is that the brain isn't in control of what is being played. It only knows how to perceive things. A person could have the ability to hear and interpret sounds however, the mind can not really perceive anything, what'sjust sound. This view claims that our brain only perceives those items that are purposeful. Music therapy is often practiced where the patient is played simple or intricate pieces of music via an ear, or a trained musician who also helps the patient. This helps the individual to adjust to the music and to find the inherent significance. By changing the sounds, the patient will learn how to recognize unique meanings and thus have the ability to talk about and understand their own experiences. Each of these views is legitimate in some way. The next diagram shows where the brain's ability to store and remember the info is stored in the mind. When we learn a new piece of music the mind instantly adds fresh connections in the new info to areas in the brain associated with sound processing. Due to the sheer complexity of audio processing in the mind there's no one answer to the question, where is music processed from the mind? There are lots more views on audio processing than can be listed here.
